Step 1
Determine location for the phone outlet
Mark the location where you want your phone connection. Typically, this would be on an inside wall at outlet height (although it may be located at light switch or any other height depending on your application). Using the stud finder, locate the outlet in a stud cavity that does not contain HVAC, plumbing or major high voltage wiring.
Step 2
Cut mounting hole
The phone outlet will be installed in an outlet bracket. Draw a rectangle (2 1/4” wide by 3 3/4” high) at your marked location and cut the drywall. Insert an outlet bracket into the hole and use a screwdriver to secure the brackets with the flip out wings.
Step 3
Run cable to the phone outlet
Run a single Cat 5e cable from the enclosure location to the phone outlet location. Cut the cable to an estimated length and feed down from the attic (or up from the basement) through a hole drilled in the wall top (or bottom) stud to the enclosure location and the outlet location.
Step 4
Connect cable to outlet
At the phone outlet location, strip the Cat 5e cable and use the punch down tool to terminate the cable on a RJ45 insert. Snap the terminated cable into a 1-Port Wall Plate and mount in the outlet bracket.
Plug the Anyline Adapter into the outlet and use it to select which line you want to be primary at that location.

Step 5
Connect cable to telephone distribution module
Feed the Cat 5e cable into the enclosure. Strip the cable and use the punch down tool to terminate on an RJ45 insert. Plug the cable into a port on the telephone distribution module.
Check that you have phone service at your remote phone outlet. Re-secure the front enclosure cover with the provided hardware.
